The 1st Sarapu Cup tournament for 2014 attracted 67 avid competitors. The event was enjoyed by all as you can see from the lively photos.

Paul Macdonald was the Chief Arbiter for the Pawns and Knights divisions.
Bruce Pollard was the Chief Arbiter for the Rooks and Kings divisions.
Roshan Gallage was the Assistant Arbiter for the Pawns and Knights divisions.

Jade Macdonald ran the Chess Power Store and the Lolli Scramble. And last but not least Liam Macdonald ran the kitchen.

Biggest Upset
The biggest upsets seemed to mostly occur during the 5th round. Perhaps the stronger players on paper were getting a little tired! The biggest upsets were as follows:
