What do you think makes you a good coach?
I’m attentive and patient. I enjoy helping others learn and improve.

What are your key strengths?
I’ve done many and varied tutoring roles for people of all ages and from a wide range of backgrounds.

Why do you love Chess?
Chess is the great equalizer. Your age, background, and experiences don’t matter on the board, all that’s important is your strength and determination.

When/how did you first learn to play?
I started learning when I was nine years old, played casually at ten, and competitively at eighteen. My dad taught me the basics, and my coach taught me the rest.

Why do you enjoy working with kids?
Helping children learn and grow is very important to me. Children remember the teachers that have inspired them. To be able to make a positive impact on someone’s learning journey is a privilege.

What are your main Chess achievements?
I’ve beaten several titled players in casual and competitive matches and came first equal in the 2023 George Trundle reserves. I got a superior position against Dejan Bojkov during a simul, but still lost the game.

How do you think Chess helps kids?
Chess is a lifelong companion. It encourages a sense of community and is a game where children can become exceptional, not just for their age but for their abilities.
