What do you think makes you a good coach?
I have a passion for chess and am greatly inspired to see other success in the game. I can prepare great, and engaging materials while providing a simple learning structure so that students can have an easy time understanding. I am also patient with students that are struggling in any aspect of the game and will gladly provide guidance for them.
What are your key strengths?
I have a solid understanding of chess fundamentals. I work well teaching chess and always give my best to make sure students will have a good understanding of the game.
Why do you love Chess?
I have always loved chess since I was in high school. I also wanted to inspire more people to get into the game.
When/how did you first learn to play?
I learned how to play chess when I was 6 years old. I was taught by my father. In high school, I started playing more as I got into a chess club where I was met with people of the same mindset which was where I learned even more about the game.
Why do you enjoy working with kids?
I believe that kids are the future of every New Zealand so I want to give them the best understanding of the game.
What are your main Chess achievements?
I have won first place in one school tournament.
How do you think Chess helps kids?
I think chess helps kids develop their intuitive thinking skills which is very beneficial for them in the future.
