What do you think makes you a good coach?

I love teaching others and helping them identify their strengths and weaknesses to improve their skills. Having played several sports, I have been coached by many different individuals, and I believe that incorporating their teaching styles into my own allows me to develop my students into better players and well-rounded individuals.

What are your key strengths?

  • Patience – I take the time to understand each student’s learning process and guide them at their own pace.
  • Adaptability – I am comfortable handling unfamiliar situations, thinking through challenges, and exploring different solutions.
  • Strong Communication – I enjoy expressing ideas and engaging in conversations, allowing me to connect with students and understand their individual needs.

Why do you love chess?

I love chess because it has taught me so much and given me the opportunity to travel the world and meet like-minded individuals.

Being part of the chess community has helped me adapt to new environments and feel at home even when moving to different places. Chess is more than just a game—it’s a universal language that connects people across cultures and backgrounds.

When/how did you first learn to play?

I first learned to play chess at the age of eight when I attended a friend’s birthday party. The party was held at a chess tournament, and I found the experience so enjoyable that I decided to continue playing when I got home.

Why do you enjoy working with kids?

I love seeing children grow through sports and develop their passion for chess, just as I did when I was their age. Watching young players build confidence, improve their skills, and develop a love for the game is incredibly rewarding.

What are your main chess achievements?

These experiences have shaped my competitive mindset and strengthened my passion for chess.

How do you think chess helps kids?

Chess teaches essential life skills that benefit children in their future careers, including patience, critical thinking, and the ability to lose with dignity.

Additionally, chess helps kids understand that while some skills—like football—may be more popular, chess offers unique lessons in strategy, decision-making, and resilience that can be valuable in many aspects of life.
