School's Checkmate Challenge

A FANTASTIC ONLINE SCHOOL'S CHALLENGE!

This is a team event and schools should enter players as part of a team (preferably a minimum of 4 players)

When:  The first Thursday of every month (from March - September)

Time:  11:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Cost:  $20 per student
Special discounts
 - $15 per student when you register 10 or more students 
 - $10 per student when you register 20 or more students

• SCHOOLS will be sent an invoice after the event
• PARENTS can make payment through Tornelo (entry website)

Where:  Online

Format:  The time control will be 5 rounds with 15 minutes per player. There is no bonus time.

Divisions:

• The Junior division is for players from Year 1 through to Year 6
• The Intermediate division is for players from Year 7 - Year 8
• The Senior division is for players from Year 9 – Year 13

Online Tournaments:

• IMPORTANT please go to our ONLINE EVENT RULES page and make sure you familiarize yourself with the online event rules whether playing at school or at home.
• Players will need to use the same login details that they were registered with to connect on the day.
• Each player will need their own device (Laptop, iPad or Tablet)

Why should I play?

• The winning team each month, in each division, qualifies for the Chess Power National Finals!
• The top three individual players, in each division, each month qualify for the Chess Power Champions Trophy!

All students MUST be registered prior to the event starting!

Registrations should be made at least three working days before the event start date.

Registered but need to make changes? Email events@chesspower.co.nz and let us know what changes you would like to make, for example, removing players or adding new players to the team.
